Sun Pictures has unveiled the first character from Jailer 2: Suraj Venjaramoodu as Dileep, a mysterious gangster.

A 30-second glimpse shows Dileep and his gang waiting for a confrontation, with Suraj’s voice-over spelling out a manic intent. How he collides with Tiger Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth) is still under wraps. Suraj returns to Tamil cinema after Dhanush’s Kara.

Nelson Dilipkumar writes and directs for Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures. Returning faces include Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu and Jaffer Saadiq, with Bagavathi Perumal, Tamizh, Jatin Sarna, Meghana Raj Sarja and Bjorn Surrao also in the mix. Anirudh is back on music; Vijay Kartik Kannan shoots; Chethan D’Souza on action. Theatrical date remains 15 October 2026.
