Soori’s sports drama Mandaadi has emerged as the clear early winner of last week’s Tamil release clash. Trade trackers put the film’s India gross around the ₹40 crore mark across its opening stretch, with Tamil Nadu driving most of the business. Worldwide the film already crossed Rs 50 Cr mark.

The sailboat-race drama posted day-on-day growth through the weekend and reportedly delivered Soori’s first double-digit single-day gross in Tamil Nadu. Same-day rival Sardar 2 (Karthi) has trailed in early trade comparisons.

Box-office figures remain trade estimates and can shift as final nets settle. Still, Mandaadi is the breakout talking point of the week for Tamil cinema.
