A part of the original soundtrack from Karthik Subbaraj's upcoming film Dorothy, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, has been released by the makers. The jukebox, consisting of 18 pieces of background music from the film, is now available on Sony Music South's YouTube channel and has been receiving a positive response from listeners.

Director Karthik Subbaraj described the release as "The Raaja Bliss." He recently shared that Ilaiyaraaja wanted the background score released as an album ahead of the film's theatrical debut. Recalling the conversation, Karthik said he was thrilled when the composer agreed to come on board after watching the first cut, and equally excited when Ilaiyaraaja suggested releasing the score as an album before the film's release.

The background score will also be available on limited vinyl records and was presented as a 40 minute concert at the Image Auditorium in RA Puram, Chennai.

Starring Keerthy Suresh, Sanath, and Rishikanth, Dorothy marks Karthik Subbaraj's follow up to Retro, which starred Suriya. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain, backed by Sikhya Entertainment and Dhammam Films, and presented by Sikhya and Jio Studios. Saravanan Chandran serves as additional screenwriter, with S Thirunavukkarasu as cinematographer, Ganesh Siva as editor, and Dinesh Subbarayan as action choreographer.

Dorothy is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on September 25. Ahead of that, the film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11.
