SJ Suryah has revealed that working on Sardar 2 gave him "a big high" comparable to his experiences on Maanaadu and Mark Antony, speaking in a conversation with Karthi and director PS Mithran ahead of the film's September 10 release.

"After Maanaadu and Mark Antony, Sardar 2 gave me a big high. In a specific few films, the high you get is much greater, and I felt that on this film," he said. Karthi, in turn, recalled his own excitement watching SJ Suryah's iconic "Silk-ah?" moment on the bus in Mark Antony, saying he leapt off his seat in the theatre.

Sardar 2 features SJ Suryah as the head of a criminal organisation, facing off against Karthi's spy character Chandra Bose. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu and Rajisha Vijayan.
