Disney+Hotstar, one of the producers of the Tamil film Vaazhai, officially announced on Wednesday that the film is all set for a digital premiere. Vaazhai's OTT release date is October 11, 2024. The film will be available to stream in the Tamil language with English subtitles. 

A heart wrenching children's drama, Vaazhai is set in 1998, and is inspired from true life events surrounding film's director Mari Selvaraj. The semi-autobiographical movie tells the tale of lost childhood, struggles and aspirations of raw banana plantation workers. 

Vaazhai stars tween actors Ponvel M. and Ragul R. (also played the young Dhanush in Raayan), alongside Kalaiyarasan, Nikhila Vimal, Karnan Janaki, Dhivya Duraisamy, Pathmen, J. Satish Kumar, Nivedita Rajappan, among others. 

The movie's technical crew includes Santhosh Narayanan for music, Theni Eswar for cinematography, Suriya Pradhaman for edits. Vaazhai comes with a runtime of  2 hours and 14 minutes.
