Raayan is actor Dhanush's 50th film which he wrote, directed and played lead in. The movie with AR Rahman for music features director turned actor SJ Suryah in a pivotal role. Raayan released in theaters on July 26, 2024, and has been streaming on Amazon Prime Video OTT platform since August 23, 2024. 

Even before Raayan's release Adangaatha Asuran song from the movie was a big hit with the Tamil audience. Post Raayan's digital premiere, and the release of Adangaatha Asuran's video song on YouTube, fans have been making mashups of SJ Suryah's dance in the Prabhu Deva choreographed number to different SJ Suryah songs.  

On Sunday, SJ Suryah took to X to express his appreciation of two such Adangaatha Asuran dance edits. "Superrrrrrr...so far seen so many re-edit videos of this...all r good , but this #Kushi and #SaripodhaaSanivaarsm edit is awesome", he wrote.

The movie's plot follows an orphaned bunch of brothers and sister, who get sucked into the world of crime and bloodshed due to circumstances. SJ Suryah plays a gangster named Sethu, whose face off with Dhanush aka Raayan is what forms the core.
