The makers of Nooru Saami have unveiled the film's trailer, offering a glimpse into an emotional drama centered on motherhood, sacrifice and self-discovery. Directed by Sasi, the film marks Vijay Antony's reunion with the Pichaikkaran filmmaker after a decade.
The trailer introduces Swasika as Selvi, a single mother raising two sons on her own. While she dedicates her life to her children, the narrative also highlights her unfulfilled aspirations and the societal pressures that prevent her from pursuing them. The story appears to explore what happens when she finally chooses to live for herself.
A striking line in the trailer states that while Pichaikkaran made people see their mother as a deity, Nooru Saami aims to make them see their mother as a human being, setting the tone for a grounded and emotionally charged narrative.
Apart from Vijay Antony and Swasika, the film stars Lijomol Jose and Ajay Dhishan in pivotal roles. The ensemble cast also includes Balaji Sakthivel, Munishkanth, Aruldoss, Bagavathi Perumal, Vinodhini, Abinaya, Subramania Siva and several others.
Based on a true incident, Nooru Saami has been described by its makers as "a journey of blood, sweat and bonds." Interestingly, the film derives its title from the popular song of the same name from Pichaikkaran.
Backed by Vijay Antony Film Corporation, the film has music composed by Balaji Sriram, cinematography by SB Darshan Kirlosh and editing by Harish Yuvaraj. Nooru Saami is slated to hit theatres on June 19.
