'Suriya-ism is in full effect', read the X post from Retro's UK distributors Ahimsa Entertainment, who have now officially announced that 3200+ tickets have been sold in just over 24 hours, via Retro advance bookings in the UK. Ahimsa Entertainment also predicts that Retro, releasing May 1, 2025, will see 'the best ever opening' for Suriya in UK. 

"Let’s keep the momentum going and deliver a RECORD opening for Suriya!", read the X post from Boleyn Cinemas, the other UK distributor of Retro, a Tamil movie written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and starring Pooja Hegde as female lead. 

Retro is a joint production venture of Jyotika and Suriya's 2D Entertainment, and Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Films. AP International holds the overseas theatrical rights to the Retro movie.
