Jailer 2 starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming Tamil movie sequel to the Superstar's blockbuster hit, Jailer (2023). Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the Jailer series of movies are produced by Sun Pictures with Anirudh Ravichander for music. 

The first movie's main villain was played by actor Vinayakan, who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry besides other South Indian film industries. With his character gone, fans of the Jailer franchise have been curious about the bad guy in Jailer 2. 

And now buzz has it that another Malayalam film actor is playing the main villain in Jailer 2. Jailer 2 already sees the return of Mohanlal as Mathew, and Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar as Narsimha to aide Rajinikanth's 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian in the storyline. As a new addition, it is said that Telugu star actor Balakrishna aka Balayya will also be joining Rajinikanth in Jailer 2.  

The villain from Mollywood, with a similar profile to actor Vinayakan's 'Varman' character, will reportedly be facing Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Balakrishna in Jailer 2 all alone. Jailer 2 also sees the return of Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa Menon. SJ Suryah also plays a pivotal role in this Rajinikanth starrer.
