Gatta Kusthi 2 has a release date. The sequel to Vishnuu Vishal's crowd-pleasing wrestling comedy arrives in theatres on July 3, with the first look poster dropped by the makers on Friday.

Directed once again by Chella Ayyavu, the second installment is expected to pick up right where the first left off, with Veera and his wrestler wife Keerthi now parents to a daughter. Karunas, Munishkanth, and Kaali Venkat return to reprise their roles from the original.

The technical team sees a complete refresh with Sean Roldan composing the music, Bhaskaran KM behind the camera, Barath Vikraman editing, and Jayachandran S handling art direction.

On the wider front, Vishnuu Vishal also has Irandu Vaanam in the pipeline, reuniting him with his Ratsasan director Ramkumar alongside Mamitha Baiju. Aishwarya Lekshmi, fresh off Thug Life, has the Telugu film SYG: Sambarala Yeti Gattu and the Malayalam film Aasha keeping her busy as well.
