Actor-director Sundar C has officially announced his entry into politics through a video shared online, where he also addressed the issue of a fake social media account created in his name.

The clarification comes after his wife Khushbu flagged a fake X account, stating that Sundar C is not active on social media platforms. In the video, Sundar C said, “Until now, as a director, producer, and actor, I have entertained you through my films. I now start a new life with my entry into politics. I am contesting from the Madurai Central constituency under the Two Leaves symbol. I hope those who supported me in cinema will support me in this journey as well.”

Sundar C will be contesting in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, scheduled for April 23. He will be representing the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) symbol as part of the party’s alliance with Puthiya Neethi Katchi (PNK), the political outfit he is associated with.

On the film front, Sundar C has Mookuthi Amman 2 in the pipeline, with Nayanthara reprising her role from the first installment. He is also working on Purushan, reuniting with Vishal and Tamannaah, which is currently under production.
