Tamil star actor Suriya during the promotions of his May 1 release Retro, officially announced that his next movie Suriya 46 will be with Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri, who made Vaathi with Dhanush in Tamil. Suriya 46 is a production venture of Sithara Entertainment, and has been widely buzzed to have GV Prakash Kumar for music. 

A rumour that floated in the Telugu circles about Suriya 46 is that actor Dhanush is part of this team-up. When asked about the same during a stage appearance in Chennai, Suriya 46 director Venky Atluri stated, "There is no combo. I wish. It (Suriya-Dhanush) is going to be a dream combo. But right now, immediately (nods head - unclear if that was a yes or no)."

When prodded for an affirmative answer, Venky Atluri asked the host to wait for one more week for Suriya 46 updates. It is worth mentioning here that the Dhanush-Suriya movie with director Venky Atluri was pegged to be a multi-starrer with Dhanush playing the lead, and Suriya in an important role. That project's title was said to be Honest Raj. 

Meanwhile Suriya 46 has been pegged to be either a heist thriller, or 796 CC, an eponymous movie based on the engine that revolutionized Indian automobiles in the 80s and 90s. Bhagyashri Borse is another actor who has been linked to Suriya 46 (as the film's female lead), but an official announcement on Suriya 46 cast and crew currently awaits.
