Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran to Star in Meghna Gulzar's Crime Drama Daayra

Junglee Pictures has officially announced a new film titled Daayra, a crime drama directed by Meghna Gulzar, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. This marks the third collaboration between the production house and the director after their acclaimed films Raazi and Talvar.

Daayra is described as an intense crime thriller that explores themes of crime, justice, and societal issues. The film will see Kareena and Prithviraj sharing screen space for the first time, with both expected to deliver powerful performances.

Meghna Gulzar said the story is thought-provoking and examines the greys between right and wrong. She is co-writing the screenplay with Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal, and called the process creatively challenging and exciting. Kareena shared her excitement about working with Meghna and praised the boldness of the story, while Prithviraj expressed his interest in the layered character he plays and the film’s take on social norms.

Junglee Pictures praised Meghna’s storytelling and the strength of the screenplay. The film is currently in pre-production and is expected to offer a powerful and relevant cinematic experience.

Daayra is Meghna Gulzar’s next directorial venture after Sam Bahadur (2023) and is expected to be a notable addition to Indian cinema.
